Wall brick – A couple of technical issues
Brick for the interior wall of the building does not have to be solid, it’s better to choose a slotted or perforated model. All kinds of openings mean reduced raw material consumption during manufacturing process, which translate into two factors: lower price of the end product and lighter weight. It’s a good idea to use brick to build partition walls. HF (hand formed) bricks will be perfect for this purpose as they have two good-looking opposite faces. The same effect can be achieved by bricklaying a 12 cm thick wall using half-size bricks.
Clinker is extremely resistant to water (only a few percent absorbability level) and soiling. After all, it perfectly works on façades, fencing, public utility facilities, landscape architecture and many more. We can rest reassured that the brick on the interior wall will spare us all the problems associated with regular renovations, necessary in the case of plaster or wallpaper in the bedroom, living room, hallway, and even kitchen and bathroom.
In case of water or hot grease splashes, a clinker brick with a smooth face will be the most suitable choice. Rough or deeply textured bricks should be impregnated with an appropriate hydrophobic or oleophobic formulation. Additionally, it’s worth to give full rein to your imagination and build islands, bars and even free-standing cabinets in your house or apartment. Let the wall brick become the most attractive decor element!
Wall brick – All aspects of clinker products
Red clinker brick is the most popular for exterior applications. It is formed from the most common type of clay, which makes it also the most affordable. In the interior, more unique solutions could be implemented. And there is so much to choose from!
The wide range of colors offered by LHL Klinkier provides the opportunity to choose from slightly off-white Wenus brick, through the gray shades of Syriusz cieniowany or graphite of Tybet cieniowany brick, to the bold, glossy face of Sotis or black Carbon.
On the other hand, wall brick in shades of red and brown suggest some interesting ideas. Many of those colors are not obvious, off and dimmed. They are often additionally enriched by unique textures, irregular shapes, and contrasts between smooth and carved faces. The latter effect is presented by the Alt Deco brick, among others. For example the Alt Classic, Rustika and Antika bricks offer different levels of surface ageing. The Alt Tessin brick impresses with a deep dark brown color with metallic burnt spots, the Classic on the contrary with a tastefully dimmed but fresh palette of red and orange shades.
If you are looking for a brick that looks like the ones revealed in old tenement houses during renovations, you have to discover the stunning world of hand-formed products. They are usually marked with HF symbol (hand-formed). These luxurious bricks are unique, but yet not at all expensive. They are characterized by a diversity of original colors (including beige, gray brown and red), which are difficult to find in machine production. Moreover, they are distinguished by diversification of colors both within a single item as well as within batches of bricks, which greatly enriches the surface of the finished wall – it becomes a ceramic mural.
