When you plan on paver on the property, the price is one of the key factors and sometimes the most important selection criteria. Unfortunately, this parameter is not always calculated the right way. Many don’t take into account all the costs related to laying of paver with the use of different materials, also in the perspective of many years of use, not only installation. Therefore, we’d like to explain how much clinker paver costs and how much you can benefit from it.
Paving block – Pricing. How much does clinker work cost?
The prices of clinker paving block offered by LHL Klinkier start from about PLN 80 per square meter. What factors influence the final price of clinker paver? Among others, it’s color – for example, less common clays that burn into yellow color incur higher prices of the end product. Secondly, on the thickness – due to higher amount of raw material necessary (although at the same time clinker block of standard thickness 47 mm is often as durable as concrete block of the thickness as much as 80 mm).
The total cost of paving block also depends on the location of the factory (which is related to the location of the clay deposit), the associated transportation costs and the individual offer of the particular distributor. Besides, the more popular types of clinker pavers available on a regular basis are less expensive than made to order ones. That can be simply checked on manufacturer’s or vendor’s website.

However, paving blocks themselves are not the whole cost. In addition to the price of clinker work, the costs of the foundation and other materials, which depend on the individual design solution, as well as labour costs, which vary depending on the region of Poland, must be added.
The most popular method of building the foundation is the elastic method which offers high load capacity based on proper selection and layer compaction of aggregate of different fractions. It has the greatest number of advantages – wheel load capacity suitable even for car traffic is combined with easy installation, ability to filter water, reduced risk of efflorescence and (thanks to the fact that the block is not permanently set to the ground) the possibility to relocate or rotate the block if necessary, e.g. if a stain from spilled paint appears.

The block rotation mentioned earlier is possible only in the case of clinker paver, laid without mortar, that has 5 good-looking faces (besides top and bottom also two shorter and one longer side edge). Due to its suitability for kerbs and steps, it also makes it easy to save wisely on the purchase of specially shaped bricks, unlike the alternative materials. However, the functional qualities of clinker work generate the greatest savings. It’s due to a lifespan estimated at hundreds of years and an equally long color durability. Frost and heat resistance is another factor. Going further, it’s resistant to soiling and biological corrosion (mosses, lichens, fungi) and chemical corrosion (acid rain, industrial gases). And on top of that, contact with a high-quality, precious material, which can become the greatest decoration of the driveway, sidewalk or garden terrace. Pure profit!
