The design of the single-family house in Mikołów, in the shape of a contemporary barn, was intended to refer to the rural landscape of Silesia. “The single-story, elongated body of the building, covered with a double shed roof, referring to factory buildings, of which there are many in Silesia, with an elevation of red brick, created a contemporary sculpture with unambiguous connotations. (…) The red brick, black panels, hiding the garage door, and black window ironwork correspond with the elements of interior design and equipment, maintained in the same character.” (Studniarek and Pilinkiewicz).
In this magnificent design, the elevation on the north and east sides is more subdued and seemingly devoid of windows, which are hidden behind a long openwork wall made of our brick.
The uniqueness of the project is also emphasized by the fact that the land on which the house is erected slopes down towards the east, making the house literally suspended above the ground in this section.
